This new house with an old soul is in the foothills overlooking Montecito and the Santa Barbara harbor. The client was committed to a sophisticated but fresh interpretation of the classic Andalusian-based design language of Santa Barbara. Laura carefully incorporated contemporary space planning with classically derived details, and materials sourced from Spain, Italy, and Morocco, to reinforce a remarkable degree of authenticity and sense of place.
Montecito Condominium
For this project, a complete renovation of a seaside condominium in Montecito for a client with a extensive art collection, Laura worked with the client to create a warm modern space that would provide a stylish and comfortable environment for her family and art. The chosen palette of materials built on warm neutrals for a sophisticated, harmonious space with a tranquil feel.
Montecito Residence
A coastal modern home overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline for a long-time client that wanted to create a soaring, gallery-like space to showcase their extensive art collection. The project was an extensive renovation of an existing home with a hypnotizing view of the sea. Laura and the clients collaborated to realize the client’s vision of a modern space that would capitalize on the light and views of the extraordinary site.
